Present for the meeting were: Lewis & Connie Maynard, Shirley Lyson,
Tom
Keene, Debby Franks, Sally Altenbernt, & Becky Kreager.
The meeting was called to order by Annette at 7:14.
Annette suggested we have a prayer before starting the business part
of the
meeting for the victims of the terrorist attacks & their families.
The minutes from August's meeting was read by Connie. Sally made a motion
to
accept them as read with Debby seconding the motion. It passed.
We have $772.99 in the bank. $8.57 was donated by lead line riders at
the
Chicken Broil.
Old Business
The weather for the Heritage Festival Parade was
perfect. We had seven
riders - Bill, Henry, Sally, Becky K, Alda, Lewis & Connie.
What made it
even nicer was our position for the parade. Right up front in the 7
slot.
Even though we were short of workers at the Chicken
Broil we managed to
cover all areas. There was no relief for any of the members except
when
started lightening & we put the horses up. That was when we ate
our dinner.
The following were there Lewis, Connie, Shirley, Henry, Bill &
Debby. Besides
parking our group did lead line rides & had a table to advertise
our group.
There were many people who had never heard of the ATMP & these
people lived
in Augusta Township. Henry & I think we need to get back to riding
in
different parts of the township as a group wearing our shirts. That
will let
the residents know about us. We have been asked to cover the parking
next
year by members of the Chicken Broil committee.
The TRI ride a thon is October 14 starting at Ravenwood
in Carleton. We
have been asked to lead groups to Crosswinds & back. If you haven't
already
told me you were able to help please let me know if you can.
You will still
have to pay to ride but remember you can get donations for this event
& it
won't cost you. A meal is included.
New Business
Our non-profit status is due for renewing at a cost
of $10 for the year.
Sally made a motion to renew it & Debby seconded it. The motion
passed.
Also the groups insurance is due for renewal. It
cost us $300 for the
year & covers 7 events. Debby made a motion that we pay the premium
out of
the treasury & members pay $10 each with the treasury covering
the rest. Tom
seconded it. The motion passed.
Henry found us a new source for shirts & hats. The polo shirts are
$18,
t-shirts are $10 & hats are $10. I have some of each on hand
if you are
interested. Henry has said we can pay him back as the items are paid
for. The
bill for items on hand is $334. There was a $20 setup fee which is
a great
price. Contact me at 461-9128 if you want any of the shirts or hats.
Capital Asset Services of Ypsilanti donated 6 tickets
to the Washtenaw
County Command Officers Association's Country concert starring Doug
Stone.
This concert is Sunday 16 at 5:00 PM at the Hill Auditorium.
We're not sure
why this business donated these tickets to our group but a thank you
will be
sent. I found their address which is on Washington St. in Ypsilanti.
We are entered in the Applefest Parade in New Boston
on October 6. It
has been a few years since our group has ridden in this parade. Lineup
is at
the Lower Huron Park entrance. I think lineup is at 9:30 with the parade
starting at 10. When I get the information on lineup position I will
inform
all members wanting to ride. Let me know if your interested in riding
in this
parade.
