The secretary and treasury report was given by Connie Maynard.
Bill made the motion to accept the minutes as read with Debby
seconded the motion. The motion passed.

Lisa was able to attend this meeting to give us a crime
report. I'll enclose a copy for the members who couldn't attend
the meeting. She stressed LOCKING YOUR CARS anytime getting out no
matter where you are parked. She also informed us of an escaped
murderer who I don't know if he's been caught yet or not. Info is
as follows: Randall Roy Gustaffon sandy brown hair (brush cut),
weights 175, height 5 feet 7 with fair skin. was carrying a sawed
off shotgun. He stabbed a woman 18 times in a restaurant and been
running since May 9.

Old Business

The exact dates f or First aid and C P R are not set. They
will run 4 weeknights from 6-10. C P R two nights and First Aid
the other two. When Tom gets the dates from Jerry I'll put the
phone tree to work.

Update on the non-profit status. Papers have been completed,
signed and filed with the Lansing office. The fee was $20 and has
been paid.   The attorney will be attending October's meeting to
talk to us about this and should have the final paperwork. We will
have to put Inc. on our patches and add it to our shirt design.

The ID cards were handed out. Members that weren't at the
meeting should receive theirs with their minutes. If not call me.

Bill made a motion to have Debby make our group copies of the
Equine Liability law for displaying whenever we have public
functions such as parades or fundraisers. Liz seconded the motion.
The motion was passed.

T-shirts are in. Debby ordered extra so if you didn't order
one but would like one she has them. If you received your shirts
and haven't paid for them see me or send your money to me. Debby
has donated the money from the shirts to our group.

The patches are in but the group voted to not accept then as
the horse design was changed and they don't match the rest of our
outfit. Lewis is going to try calling the company and see if they
will put the correct horse design on for us. If not we'll be
looking for places to buy patches.

New Business

Michelle Steffen turned in her resignation as coordinator of
the Mounted Patrol because of too many demands on her time. She is
remaining as a member and will participate as much as possible.
When this occurred we realized we never planned for resignations
when drawing up the groups by laws. Karen made a motion to add to
the by laws that if an officer resigns that a member would be
elected at the next meeting.

Henry made a motion to elect a replacement for Michelle
ASAP. Sally seconded this motion. The motion passed. Bill
nominated Liz which was seconded by Sally. After no more
nominations Henry made the motion to close nominations which Jeff
seconded. Motion carried. Liz was elected as temporary
Coordinator.

The fire dept. is having an open house on Thursday Cot 10.
We discussed participating by riding our horse for a demonstrate.
Lisa said she will close Whittaker for about 10 minutes while we
do a demonstration. Trailer your horse if possible as we are
also having a booth and may do a 50/50 raffle or have an donation can.
This would also be a good opportunity to bring in new members.

Some ideas for fundraisers was Liz suggested we seek sponsors
that we would advertise their business in parades and in the
pamphlet we are making up telling about our group. Lisa suggested
we sell T-shirts with our logo on it only have something different.
She also suggested we have a deputy do fingerprinting and get film
donated for pictures. We could ask the people to make a dollar or
two donations. As the Lincoln PTO is having a pancake supper
in the future also. The motion passed. Ronda suggested we do a pancake supper
in the future also. Lisa also said we could do something for the
Sheriff's open house next May. Sell hot dogs or do a dunk tank.
Any ideas for fundraisers call Liz, Tom, Lewis or Connie.

Becky made a motion that someone contact the Township
about advertising our group on the local cable. Debby
seconded this motion. The motion passed. Ronda volunteered to do
this and the ad has been running for 2 weeks now and will until Oct.
15. There was no charge for this.

There is a ride-a-thon at the Chrtsler proving grounds on Oct. 13.
Debby made a motion that we ride as a group in our uniforms. Jeff
seconded the motion. The motion passed. This will be in place of
our ride scheduled for that day. If your interested call me for
more information.

The 50/50 raffle was won by Becky Boone. Lisa asked the
officers of our group to attend their first meeting on Oct. 2. All
of us will be there. Lisa also asked the Salem unit to join us at
our Oct. 26 ride at the Maynards.

I bought a large container and several small containers and
set up a first aid kit that hopefully will be sterile enough.

I have not received information on the Applefest parade I
entered us in for Oct. 5. As soon as I do I will let everyone know
where to go and times. I've been putting off doing these minutes
because the information packet was suppose to be here the last week
of September.

Henry moved we adjourn at 8:50. Lisa seconded it.
Motion passed.
