Present for the meeting were Lewis & Connie Maynard, Sally Altenbernt,
Debby
Franks, Shirley Lyson, Bill Beach, Henry Clay, Alda Cloud & Sara
Cloud.
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 by Debby.
No minutes from last month were read as I accidently left them at home.
Lewis
made a motion that I read them at April's meeting. Bill seconded the
motion.
It passed.
We have $552.99 in the treasury. Henry made a motion to accept
the treasury
report & Connie seconded it. Motion passed.
Debby picked the crime summery up at the sheriff's office again this month.
Old Business
Lewis & Connie rode in the mounted police unit on March 9 at the
Lansing MSU
Pavillion. Henry & Bill rode with the Monroe Posse. Al Veal wrote
a great
intro for the ATMP. We had a good time. Luckily we rode during the
best part
of the day. It poured rain afterwards & then turned cold &
snowed.
Reminder that we are putting on the obstacle clinic for 4-H kids April
27.
Debby is making certificates to give each kid that participates. Coggins
are
required for this calendar year if your planning on bringing your horse.
Henry will get a helium tank & lime for that day. If planning
on helping &
you haven't told me please let me know. We will need all the
help we can
get
either on your horse or on the ground. If possible we'll set
up Friday
night. I have to check with Stan Poet to see if we're allowed.
May 4 will be our spring obstacle training with a broom polo game
afterwards.
If the ground is dry enough we can set up the obstacles in a
pasture so the
arena will be clear for the polo games. Also there will be a potluck
&
bonfire that evening.
New Business
Debby had information about a Riding for America ride that is covering
many
states in the US. For more information the wed address is:

Debby is looking into flag companies to get prices for a new flag &
pole.
It
was noticed at the color guard ceremony that ours is peeling &
we need a
nicer flag pole. Debby is also going to see if Minzey or anyone else
might
donate a flag or the money to purchase one. If you know of a place
that
makes
flags please let Debby or Connie know.
We're also going to have Carole Beach make a few extra saddle pads so
we
have
some on hand for new members.
We also discussed having patches made with our logo on them. Another
discussion was to get matching tack. Anyone who knows of places that
do this
please let Debby or Connie know. Debby knows someone who
does logos on
coffee cups & is getting prices for those who might want one or
two.
The township hall won't let us post our meeting time & place
on the
bulletin
board. It seems that don't recognize us as a neighborhood watch group.
Debby
has managed to get a township trustee to post our meeting times &
to watch
to
see it stays on the board.

Lewis is working on getting a platt map tp see who owns what where so
maybe
we can put in some trails.
At 8:10 Henry made a motion to ajourn with Connie seconding it.
