The meeting was called to order at 7:11 by Debby.
After going over last months minutes Henry made a motion to accept the
minutes with Bill seconding. The motion passed.
Alda was unable to give a treasury report.
Debby picked up a crime summery from the sheriff's office. If you would
like
a copy contact Debby as she has them.
Old Business
The obstacle clinic we are giving for 4-H kids will be April 27.
We will
need as many members helping as possible that day. We will be setting
up the
obstacles in the large arena. Debby is going to make up certificates
for the
kids like we gave out the last clinic we gave for the kids. So
far Connie,
Lewis, Henry, Bill, Debby & Tom have volunteered.
Henry made a motion to have the Poker Ride June 1 at Sanford Park.
Tom
seceded the motion. The motion passed. If you have any new ideas
for
advertising please let Debby know.
Alda made a motion to have the spring obstacle training May 4 at the
Maynards. Connie seconded it. The motion passed with Bill
suggesting we
have a broom polo match after the training. Everyone agreed.
Start time
will be 1:00 and as usual there is a potluck & bonfire after.
New Business
Jim English from Whittaker Oaks has asked us to patrol the park on horseback
every once in a while. Lewis, Shirley, Sally & I attended
one of his open
house & rode around the park. Sally & Shirley were interviewed
by WSDS radio
station. We also met the man who is in charge of the neighborhood watch
for
the park. He wants to coordinate with our group. Henry
& Bill rode the next
weekend there.
We have been invited to participate in the mounted police color guard
unit at
the Lansing Pavilion March 9. Al Veal is coordinating this event.
Henry &
Bill are riding with the Monroe Posse. Lewis & Connie will
be representing
our group. If Tom gets his coggins back in time he plans to ride
also.
Al has also invited us to ride in the Lansing State Parade May 18.
All of
the horse units will be in the front of the parade. So far Henry,
Bill,
Debby, Lewis & Connie have said they will ride in it. If
interested please
let me know.
Alda has said she is interested in sponsoring Sara Cloud as a new member.
Becky Kreager is looking for a horse to lease or ride. The horse
she used of
Alda's has been sold. If you know of a horse for lease or someone that
has a
horse they want ridden please call Becky 439-7310.
Lewis suggested we see about putting in trails on land in the township
example would be the power lines.
March meeting will be at Henry Clay as the school is having conferences
& we
can't use the building.
