Kristina Steffen, Karen Clayton, Becky &  Rick Boone, Sally
Altenbernt, Chatrina Richardson, Bill Beach, Henry Clay, Peggy
Johnson, Wendy Tobler, Debbie Franks & Glen & Laurie Cutright

The meeting was called to order by Michelle Steffen at 8:10

Old Business

Tom Keene will have dates and/or information about getting
Training brought up to date especially for the new members. He
Is also trying to get CPR and First Aid training for those who
Aren't certified and for those who need to renew their
Certification this year.

Enclosed with your minutes should be a job description list.
If you have any changes or additions January's meeting will be
The time to do it.

Also be thinking about updating our code of conduct and the
Equipment list we put together last winter.

New Boston has not sent out plaques for the applefest parade
We rode in last October. No one answers the phone number that
Becky Boone was given to call. I will send a letter asking about
It as soon as I get the address from Becky.

New Business

The sheriff's office sent us a letter thanking us for the invitation
To our pot luck dinner. Because of another engagement
He could not attend.

Chatrina Richardson passed out Augusta Township Unit signs to
Place in the window of our vehicles. Thanks to her husband David
There were donated by Speedy Printing on Michigan Ave. in
Ypsilanti. I have sent them a letter thanking them for the
Signs. I have all of the extras so if you didn't get on or need
Another see me.

For those who don't know weapons have been brought to the
High School (only in the parking lot so far). Mr. Harrison has
Contacted Michelle about our presenting a seminar on the gang
Problem. She attended the school board meeting Monday 18. Rick made a
Motion that we sponsor an education program on gangs for parents.
It was seconded by Bill Beach and the motion was carried
Unanimously.

Wendy Tobler brought up that she recently found out that a
New gang initiation is to drive by and shoot at people. Be
Very careful when out riding and try to have a buddy with you if
At all possible. Another suggestion is to carry ID in some form
On your person. Even if you have it in your saddlebags you might
Get separated from your horse.

It was decided that the members like having their minutes
Mailed to their home so at each meeting a hat will be passed to
Cover postage and any expense that might come up. Some people
Have suggested having coffee at the meetings. It was also
Suggested we have some fund raisers to build up a treasury for
Future expenses.

This is an addition of mine as I forgot to bring it up at
The meeting. After riding in the Belleville Christmas Parade
(which was cold but lots of fun. Some of us even decorated our
horses with garland and bells) we thought it would look nice if
we got matching saddle pads, breast collars and bridles. Any
thoughts on this?

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30

FYI

In case you hadn't heard the lady from Michigan who left riding
Her horse last February for Alaska arrived in Alaska December 13.
Congratulations to Suellen Finatri and her horse Nakota (Quarter
Horse of course) and her dog Cheyenne.

Thank you Lewis for my Christmas present of a 9 month old gray
And white Paint filly. She is beautiful. I do have an extremely
Jealous older horse now. Fugative isn't going to take retirement
Gracefully I'm afraid.
